Mary Ena J. Heath
Mary Ena is a native of Athens, Alabama. She graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 1977, with a double major in English and French and a minor in history. She earned her master’s in secondary education/English in 1978 and her law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1989, where she was named Order of the Coif and a Hugo Black Scholar. She was also a recipient of the Dean M. Leigh Harrison Award. Mary Ena has worked as an assistant city attorney for the City of Huntsville, representing the city in civil litigation and administrative law. She presently serves as a hearing officer for the City of Madison, Alabama. Mary Ena is the missions chair at her church, Huntsville First United Methodist Church, and she volunteers in the community. She has taught at high schools in Alabama, Alaska and Mississippi, and for a number of years she has taught Business Legal Studies at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
